PTC Office catch fire

 

IFP LAMKA, June 14: A fire that broke out at the office of Paite Tribe Council (PTC) GHB situated at Chappel Lane, Hingham Lanka, Churachandpur district today morning around 8 destroyed goods mostly computer appliances belonging to the office.

The cause of the fire could not be established as there was no staff present in the office when the fire broke out on account of Sunday holiday. The fire erupted at the computer room on the ground floor of the office building.

It is believed that the fire may have been caused by an electric short circuit.

According to president of PTC GHQ Vungsuanthang Guite, property worth around Rs 2 lakh was destroyed in the fire.

He said that goods of the office including computer desktop, inverter, printer and furniture were destroyed in the fire. However, files of the office were not harmed.

On hearing the news of the fire, Parliamentary Secretary Vungzagin Valte rushed to the PTC office to take stock of the situation.

He assured that all possible help will be extended to the office to mitigate the loss incurred in the unfortunate fire.
